Caroline Boyer City Reporter

Caroline is a Lenexa native and a 1999 graduate of Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. She then attended the University of Kansas, where she worked for the University Daily Kansan and interned with the Lawrence Journal-World. She graduated from the William Allen White School of Journalism in May 2003 and joined the Shawnee Dispatch in September 2003. Caroline briefly worked for the Bonner Springs Chieftain, from January through August of 2004, before returning to the Dispatch as the city reporter. She now lives in Shawnee. Residents living near 69th Street and Neiman Road donated the tree in their front yard to the city for the Mayor’s Christmas tree, and on Tuesday, Nov. 25, city crews took the morning to haul it to City Hall. First, they rigged it up to a crane.
Don Marrs of Marrs’ Tree Service in Shawnee cuts the tree loose from the ground. The lower branches were trimmed so the tree could be lowered into a hole in the City Hall parking lot.
