Gregory and Rosner

Brooke Gregory and Dominic Rosner, both of Leavenworth, announce their engagement and upcoming nuptials.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Gordon and Pamela Gregory, Shawnee. Brooke graduated from Mill Valley High School in 2004 and graduated from Baker University in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. She works in sales for Innovative Technology Solutions.
The prospective groom is the son of Michael and Ramona Rosner, Shawnee. Dominic graduated in 2003 from Mill Valley High School. He recently started his new career at Union Pacific Railroad.
The couple plan a May 23, 2009, wedding.

Wedding

James and McMahon

Jennifer Ann James and Albert Andrew McMahan were married Aug. 2 at Merriam Christian Church with Pastor J. Rollin Hole officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Tammy James, Shawnee, and the granddaughter of the late Frank and Evelyn Pflumm and Hall and Dolores Bartlett.
The groom is the son of Clarence and Mary McMahan, Kansas City, Kan., and grandson of the late Clarence Sr. and Francis McMahan and Kenneth and Dora Bennett.
Katie Knisely was the maid of honor. Matthew Schmidt was best man.
Bridesmaids were Ashley Randel, Amanda Strom, Jessica Nielsen, Becky Neeley and Amanda McDonnell.
Groomsmen were Tim Cannon, Mark Castineda, Chad James, Dustin Phillips and Jeremy Silvey.
Dave Nielsen, Jeremy Schmidt, Andrew McDonnell and Michael Neeley were ushers. Flower Girl was Shelby Strom, with Andrew Neeley serving as ring bearer. Wynne Jennings provided music on the violin.
A buffet dinner and dancing at Lake Quivira Country Club followed the wedding.
The bride attends Johnson County Community College and is employed at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. The groom is employed by Associated Wholesale Grocers.
After a honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico, the couple will be at home in Gardner.

Do you think Veterans Day should be a prominent holiday?

Absolutely. We wouldn’t be able to sit here and eat lunch like this if it weren’t for the veterans. We’ve got millions of people that fought and died to save this country; it should be more than a bank holiday.
